1
Step
Dust your cutting template or blade with a light coating of cornstarch as a release agent to prevent sticking. Cut the left and center popsicle blanks first, then build the waffle cone from a shallow tan triangle and a small yellow scoop of polymer clay so all three charms maintain a consistent depth.
2
Step
Wipe the contact areas of the raw clay with a damp cotton swab to remove any release powder or oils. To add the hot-pink drip layer to the cream bar, apply a smear of liquid polymer clay to ensure a strong raw-to-raw bond. For the textures, dust your needle tool and waffle texture stamp with cornstarch to act as a release agent, then score long vertical grooves into the yellow popsicle and press the stamp into the tan cone to create a crisp diamond pattern.
3
Step
Wipe the top of the cone with a damp cotton swab to clear any residue, then press the pink sprinkle cap onto the yellow scoop. Keep the tiny yellow sprinkle pieces shallow and flush with the surface so the details remain crisp and readable at this miniature charm scale.
4
Step
Insert a gold-plated eye pin into the top center of each raw charm. Ensure the loops are aligned so the gold jump rings can hang from the single lobster clasp without twisting the treats sideways. Alternatively, pierce a pilot hole to accommodate screw-eye bails post-bake.
5
Step
Bake the three charms flat on a ceramic tile according to the manufacturer instructions, using an oven thermometer to verify the temperature and timing the bake based on the thickest charm. Let them cool completely. If you need to secure any loose baked-to-baked elements or attach metal findings, avoid brittle cyanoacrylate or super glue, which fails on smooth surfaces. Instead, clean the contact areas with rubbing alcohol and use a strong adhesive like Devcon 2-Ton Epoxy or E6000.
6
Step
After curing and cooling, clean the metal contact areas with rubbing alcohol. Open three small gold jump rings with pliers, slip one through the top eye pin of each charm, and link them to the loop of the gold lobster clasp. If you choose to seal the charms for a soft satin sheen, use a compatible water-based polyurethane like Varathane or UV resin, and avoid solvent-based glazes or aerosol clear coats which will react with the polymer clay plasticizers and become indefinitely sticky. Close every jump ring flush to complete the cluster.
