Where the starting figures come from
Australian prices, checked 20 October 2026, including GST. Treat them as starting points, not quotes.
- Clay
- Sculpey Premo 57 g block at a national Australian retailer. Grams per piece come from the Pixel Cherry shape and thickness at 1.7 g/cm³, a cautious planning allowance rather than a measured Premo density, plus 25% for offcuts. Replace with weighed clay for your own pieces.
- Findings
- 316 stainless fish-hook ear wire, from a 100-piece pack; stainless steel jump ring, from a 100-piece pack; stainless flat-pad post, from a 100-piece pack.
- Glue
- E6000 jewellery glue, 29.5 ml tube, about 0.05 ml per join (estimate)
- Packaging
- kraft earring backing card, from a 100-pack; small rigid kraft jewellery box, 100-box price; size 00 bubble mailer, 450-pack.

Selling fees start from a 6.5% transaction fee on the item and postage, Australian domestic processing at 3% plus AU$0.25 per order, and an editable AU$0.31 listing allowance per sale. Initial or unsold listing charges, setup fees, tax on fees, advertising and extra cushioning are excluded. Postage assumes the buyer pays exactly what the carrier charges; the large-letter example may not fit your box.
