Make your first one
Make one complete piece before you make a set
The first one tells you what the STL cannot: how your printer resolves the small details, how your materials behave at this size, and whether the fit suits the jewellery you actually make.
Route A: 3D print the card
Import the STL at 100 percent scale and 3D print it flat with the smooth face on the bed. Load it with the exact earrings you sell and hang it on the hook you use.
Route B: cut the card from clay
Condition enough clay for an even slab and roll it to a measured 2 mm. Press the cutter straight down, lift straight up, and peel away the outside waste. Then lift each inner plug out separately without pulling on the narrow bridge above the hanger opening.
Why 2 mm
The shallow border and the drill marks are modelled as a 0.45 mm impression in a 2 mm slab. A thicker card moves the marks and changes how the card sits on a rung. Treat 2 mm as the first test, not a rule.
Bake, cool, then finish
Bake the card flat to your clay's instructions and let it cool fully. Drill-mark cards get their openings now, with a hand pin vise. Then load the card with your earrings and hang it.
Through-hole or drill-mark
Neither is better. Very soft or sticky clay can distort around small raw openings as the cutter lifts. Drilling cured clay takes longer but gives you each opening one at a time. Both cutters are included, so test the one that behaves with the clay you use.

Starting clay test
Start with a measured 2.0 mm slab. The border and drill marks are modelled as a 0.45 mm impression at that thickness, so a thicker card moves the marks, adds weight, and changes the rung fit

How to 3D print it
Start with one test model at 100 percent scale, then check fit and finish before 3D printing the complete set.
Cards 3D print flat
Use PLA+ or Tough PLA, a 0.4 mm nozzle, and 0.12 to 0.20 mm layers. 3D print each card smooth-face down with supports off, 3 walls, and 80 to 100 percent infill for the thin body.
Cutters 3D print handle-down
Use the same nozzle and layer range. Place the handle on the bed with the cutting edges up, supports off, 3 to 4 walls, and 15 to 25 percent infill.
Keep 100 percent scale
Scaling changes more than the outside size. It also changes the card thickness, top hanger opening, earring holes, cutter wall, and inner border, so use the supplied Small, Medium, and Large models as they are.
Test one before you make ten
3D printers, filament, polymer clay, and jewellery hardware all vary. Make one complete card and check it: the card sits on your display hook, the earrings load and remove easily, the small openings are clean, the card is stiff enough for the pair, a clay card stays flat after baking, and the colour works with the jewellery. If those are right, make the batch.

Styling tips
Choose a card colour that suits your jewellery
A brighter card adds energy to a simple pair. White on a light setting and black on a dark setting make the card recede so the jewellery becomes the focus. There is no universally professional card colour: sometimes the card should disappear, sometimes it should carry as much of the collection as the earrings do.

Build a repeatable display system
Photograph one pair per card against a repeatable background, then reuse the same card size across a listing series so product-image crops stay consistent.
Use Small for studs and short drops, Medium for most dangles, and Large for longer statement pairs, then check the actual jewellery and display hook before making a batch.
Arrange loaded cards by size or collection on a market display so customers can scan the range without handling every pair.
Repeat one brand colour across every size for a cohesive range, or change the card colour to separate collections in photos and studio storage.

Questions makers usually ask
Which card size should I start with?
Start with Medium if you mainly make dangle earrings. Choose Small for studs and short drops, or Large for longer statement pairs. 3D print one card first and check the exact earrings and display hook before making a batch.
Why are there two cutters for each size?
The through-hole file is designed to form the openings in raw clay. The drill-mark file leaves guide marks so you can finish the openings after baking and cooling. Choose the one that suits your clay and finishing tools.
Can I use the cutters on paper or cardstock?
No. These are 3D-printable polymer clay cutters, not paper punches or cardstock templates.
Can I sell the cards I make?
You may sell handmade polymer clay display cards that you personally make with the cutters. You may not sell or give away the direct 3D-print cards, 3D-printed cutters, or digital files.
Is the earring stand included?
No. This listing is the nine card and cutter files on their own. The same nine files also ship inside the Earring Display Stand Kit, along with the shared base, inserts, hooks, and pegs. T-bar stands, earrings, and props stay separate.
Can I resize the files?
Keep the files at 100 percent. Scaling changes card thickness, holes, hanger fit, cutter walls, and the shallow border line.
Can I use a 3D printing service?
Yes. The licence allows a private 3D print for your own use, provided the service does not keep, publish, share, or resell the files.
What support is included?
If a supplied file is missing or will not import, email hello.clay.bake.studio@gmail.com with a screenshot. Support covers the supplied files and guide. It does not include 3D printer repair, general slicer training, brand-specific clay or oven troubleshooting, or third-party 3D printing service issues.
Are the 3D-printed cutters toys or food tools?
No. They are adult polymer clay tools, not toys, cookie cutters, or food-safe tools. Keep them separate from food preparation and away from ovens, hot surfaces, and open flame.
Can the backing card go to my customer with their earrings?
You may sell finished polymer clay cards you make with the cutters. Directly 3D-printed cards are for your own photography and displays; the included Maker Licence does not allow selling or giving those 3D-printed cards to customers.
