1
Step
Condition your hot pink polymer clay and roll it into a thick slab. Lightly dust a circular cutter with cornstarch as a release agent, cut two matching discs, and gently shape them into smooth, rounded domes while keeping the backs flat.
2
Step
Use a rounded ball stylus lightly dusted with cornstarch to press organic, shallow pebble-like pockets into the raw pink domes, creating a balanced pattern across both earring faces.
3
Step
Wipe the pressed pockets with a damp cotton swab to remove any release powder. Fill each pocket with a small piece of gold glitter polymer clay, pressing it flush with the pink surface and texturing it slightly with a needle tool.
4
Step
Bake the raw studs on a flat ceramic tile according to your clay manufacturer instructions, using an external oven thermometer to ensure temperature accuracy, then let them cool completely.
5
Step
Clean the backs of the cooled studs and your metal post pads with rubbing alcohol. Attach the flat-pad stud posts using a high-strength adhesive like Devcon 2-Ton Epoxy or E6000, avoiding brittle super glues.
6
Step
Apply a thin, even coat of UV resin or a compatible water-based polyurethane glaze like Varathane over the domed fronts to seal the glitter and create a high-gloss, glassy finish, then finish with blue translucent comfort clutch backs.
