Hot Pink Flat Flower Medallion Necklace

Build the pendant as a chunky hot-pink donut ring covered in densely packed flattened-petal applique and tiny raised dots, because the product image shows a thick puffy wreath form (not a flat washer) with raised flower-cluster relief over the entire front and outer rim. Shape the donut core first, then build up the petal wreath in 3D so the volume reads from the side as well as the front.

Why This Build Works

A chunky hot-pink donut-shaped pendant with a small open center, completely covered in densely overlapping flattened-petal applique and tiny raised dots scattered between the petals. The pendant hangs from a gold pinch bail and gold cable chain.

Builder Guide

Build the Piece

This is a sculpted donut-wreath build, not a flat slab medallion. Shape a thick hot-pink donut ring core, then layer many small flattened petal shapes (each pinched or cutter-cut, then thinned at one edge) around the entire ring face and outer rim, overlapping like roof shingles. Press tiny clay balls into the gaps as raised dot accents. The whole ring stays a single color so the relief and shadow do all the work; embed a bail wire or use a pinch bail clamped to the top after cure.

1
Step

Condition the hot-pink clay, then shape a thick donut ring core (about 10 to 14 mm thick, with a small center opening) on a ceramic tile.

2
Step

Pinch or cutter-cut many small petal shapes (about 5 to 8 mm) and thin one edge of each petal so they read as soft folded flower-cluster pieces rather than flat tiles.

3
Step

Brush a tiny dab of liquid clay onto the donut surface as you place each petal, overlapping them like roof shingles around the entire front face and outer rim until the donut form disappears under petal coverage.

4
Step

Roll tiny clay balls (1 to 2 mm) and press them into the gaps between petals as raised dot accents, using a ball stylus to seat them without flattening the surrounding petals.

5
Step

Either embed an eye-pin vertically into the top of the donut before bake (the visible loop stays exposed for the bail to attach after cure), or leave the top edge clean and plan to clamp a pinch bail there after cure; bake on a tile per the clay manufacturer's instructions (typically 275 degrees Fahrenheit for 30 minutes for Premo or Sculpey).

6
Step

Cool fully, attach the gold pinch bail with a small bead of two-part epoxy if not embedded, thread the gold cable chain, and apply a thin polymer-clay-safe gloss coat to bring up the same wet-pink reflective read shown in the image.

Common mistakes

  • Pressing the petals in too hard flattens the relief and erases the wreath depth that makes the pendant work; press lightly with a tiny dab of liquid clay underneath instead.
  • Skipping the bail plan (eye-pin embed or pinch-bail position) means the top petals will get crushed when you try to attach a bail after cure; pick a strategy before you finish the petal coverage.
  • Building the donut core too thin will warp during bake under the weight of the petal layer; keep the core at least 10 mm thick and bake on a flat tile.

Skin contact

Metal findings like posts, hooks, and jump rings may contain nickel or other allergens. If you have sensitive skin, choose surgical steel or titanium findings and test any sealant or coating on a small area before wearing.
