1
Step
Compress aluminum foil into a tight, pear-shaped core to establish the inner structure. Condition your yellow polymer clay (using Sculpey Soufflé for a velvety, matte finish) and wrap it smoothly around the foil core, maintaining a consistent thickness of 5 to 8 mm. Flatten the bottom to ensure it stands upright.
2
Step
Shape two flat, stubby feet and two chunky, tapered arms from the yellow clay. Position the feet at the base and fold the arms across the belly, placing the character's right arm higher than the left. Wipe all raw contact areas with a damp cotton swab to ensure a strong bond before pressing the limbs firmly to the body.
3
Step
Roll out a thin sheet of pink clay and cut two circular cheeks. Wipe the cheek areas on the face with a damp cotton swab, then press the pink circles onto the raw yellow body.
4
Step
Stipple the entire yellow surface and the pink cheeks using a stiff-bristled brush or stippling tool. Work systematically to create a uniform, pebbled texture across the body, limbs, and cheeks, which helps blend the seams seamlessly.
5
Step
Roll out thin sheets of FIMO Professional in white, blue, and pink. Cut out two white oval eyes, two blue pupils, and a thin pink strip for the mouth. Use a tiny amount of cornstarch on your blade as a release agent to get clean cuts. Wipe the textured face area with a damp cotton swab, then gently press the smooth eyes and mouth onto the stippled face, positioning the pupils to look to the side.
6
Step
Bake the figurine on a parchment-lined tile according to the manufacturer instructions. Once fully cooled, use Devcon 2-Ton Epoxy to secure any loose elements if needed. If a protective finish is desired, apply a compatible water-based polyurethane glaze like Varathane, avoiding solvent-based aerosol sprays which degrade polymer clay.
