Choose a size
Sizes name the lips width, from corner to corner. Dimensions are the clay lips' width and height at 100% print scale, not the cutter's outside dimensions.

Every layered cutter and the relief cutter comes in all four widths. Relief lips make earrings only as the 26 mm studs; larger relief lips are not made into earrings. The 26 mm studs have their own simpler cutters: three layers, or one relief slab.

For larger layered lips, hanging holes for drops, pendants, keychains and bag charms are drilled through the pink base after baking and full cooling. Larger relief lips hang from glued bails. Studs, brooches and magnets need no hole. The guide gives the hole and hardware for each size.
Making methods
Two ways to make the Pixel Lips
Stack five colour layers for the raised lips, or press the outline and mouth into one slab with the relief cutter. The studs have their own simpler cutters. Hanging holes in larger layered lips are drilled through the pink base after baking; larger relief lips hang from glued bails.
Five colour layers
Five cutters cut the pink base, the orange and yellow lip layers, the white teeth and the black tooth line, then you stack them into raised lips. Suits drop earrings, a brooch, pendant, keychain, magnet or wall art; the studs have their own three simpler cutters.

One-slab relief
One cutter cuts the lips outline and presses the lip line and mouth into a single slab of one clay colour. Paint the baked lips if you like. Suits the 26 mm studs, a brooch, a magnet or a pendant on a glued bail; 56 and 62 mm relief lips also make a keychain or bag charm.

One cutter, one colour
A pair of 26 mm relief studs
- One file: the 26 mm relief stud cutter. Print it once and press both earrings.
- Add
- One clay colour, two flat-pad stud posts with backs, and glue suited to baked clay and metal.
A single press cuts the lips and presses the mouth into one slab. Leave them one colour or paint the mouth after baking. About 1.9 g per earring with its post (an estimate).

A pair of 26 mm layered studs

- Pink, white and black clay, two flat-pad stud posts with backs, and glue suited to baked clay and metal.
The stud keeps the pink lips, white teeth and black tooth line and leaves out the two thin lip sheets, so there are fewer layers to place. About 1.5 g per earring with its post (an estimate).

The full five-colour stack as statement drops, with the hole drilled after baking. About 5.3 g per earring with its ear wire and jump ring (an estimate; weigh each finished earring).

A 56 mm layered brooch
- The five files in the 56 mm layered set.
- Add
- Five clay colours, thin spacers for the colour sheets, a 32 mm bar pin, and glue suited to baked clay and metal.
The 56 mm lips give the teeth and black tooth line room while you place them. About 8.5 g with a 1 g bar pin (an estimate); weigh your finished brooch with its glue and finish. Fit the bar across the upper third of the flat back and let the glue cure fully before wearing.

Show off your earrings on the wall
Cut, stack and bake the same five layers at 110 mm wide and the lips become wall art that holds a pair of 44 mm drop earrings. Make it in any colours.
- Show it
- Hang it behind your stall or on a shop wall at eye height. At home it keeps a favourite pair by the mirror, ready to wear.
- Hang it
- Print the hanger and glue it to the back at the guide position. Fit it to a suitable nail or the printed wall stud before mounting. For the stud, follow the exact tape instructions for compatible surfaces, preparation, pressure and waiting time. This projecting assembly has no established tape load rating.
- Style it
- The base cutter presses two small marks where the earring holes sit best. Drill them out for a pair of 44 mm drops, or smooth the marks away and hang it as art on its own.
- Sell it
- You can sell the finished display with its hanger glued on.

Step 01 · base cutter
Cut the pink base
The base cutter makes the full lips outline and supports the four colour layers. Cut the stepped outline bare to keep the corners crisp; the release guide explains light dusting for sticking.

Step 02 · Outer lip and Inner lip cutters
Roll the thin sheets, then add orange and yellow
The Outer lip cutter makes the orange shape, and the Inner lip cutter makes the smaller yellow shape. Place them on the base in that order, with the pixel steps in line.

Step 03 · Teeth, Tooth line and Base cutters
Add the teeth and black line, then trim if needed
The Teeth cutter makes the connected white teeth. The Tooth line cutter makes the connected black bar and dividers that go on last. Trim with the Base cutter only if a layer has spread past the pink outline.

Step 04 · bake and findings
Bake flat, then add the findings
Build and bake on the same flat, oven-safe tile to reduce handling of the raw layers. Follow the clay packet and cool fully. For drops, pendants and charms, drill the hanging hole through the pink base; for studs, a brooch or a magnet, glue the finding to the flat back and let the adhesive cure. The guide gives each hole, ring and finding.

Glue the pin's flat pad to the top third of the baked, cooled back. If it turns on fabric, add a second pin at the same height.
