1
Step
Condition FIMO Professional clay in yellow, magenta, light pink, black, and white. Roll or extrude the clay into precise square strips to form the individual pixels of the cat face design.
2
Step
Assemble the square strips into a pixel-art cane, following the pattern for the ears, eyes, nose, cheeks, and forehead highlight, surrounded by yellow border pixels. Wipe the raw contact surfaces with a damp cotton swab to remove any dust or oils before pressing the strips together.
3
Step
Gently compress the cane to fuse the pixels, then slice it into thin, even sheets. Press each slice onto a thin yellow backing sheet of clay to give the earrings a solid, clean backing.
4
Step
Trim around the pixelated silhouette with a sharp blade, using a light dusting of cornstarch on the blade as a release agent. Pierce a hanging hole at the top-center of the head using a needle tool.
5
Step
Bake the pieces flat on a ceramic tile. Once fully cured and cooled, sand the edges with fine-grit sandpaper to remove any rough spots, then wipe clean. If sealing, use a water-based polyurethane glaze rather than solvent-based sprays.
6
Step
Clean the silver ball stud posts and jump rings with rubbing alcohol. Use pliers to connect the cat face drops to the ball studs using two jump rings linked in series per earring, ensuring they hang straight and face forward.
