Cane work is a beautiful puzzle of geometry and color contrast. These guides suggest ways to build stable cane cores, reduce them evenly from the center out to help prevent flower or face distortion, and chill your cane so it is firm enough to slice cleanly without smearing. Practice slicing with a very sharp, thin blade on a cooled log first.
