Your download
The digital set includes 4 3D-printable STL parts for the advertised forms.
Recessed lid gauges and a 3D-printable sizing card help measure the clay. Follow the guide for the matching shape and size.
The guide and file list accompany the STL files. The supplied 3MF files are arranged geometry with archive notes, not validated 3D printer process profiles.
Maker workflow
Portion a total clay charge for the selected size. Build a base, stem and head around the matching-size spine, using the rings on the matching cap.
Align the deep ends of the cap and base, press the pre-form, then use short strokes to finish the seam. Follow the guide for the different ring and spine sizes.
Remove the clay from the 3D-printed tool. Use an oven-safe surface and follow the clay manufacturer's baking instructions.
Before you start
Keep the making setup practical
Make a trial with scrap clay and check the resulting dimensions before producing a batch.
Use light, even pressure and stop if the slide binds.
Remove clay after use and never heat the 3D-printed tool.
3D printing setup
Use a 0.4 mm nozzle. 3D print both trays flat, troughs up with the cap lid on the bed. Use 0.28 mm body layers with adaptive layers to 0.08 mm or finer over the troughs, a 0.20 mm first layer, 3 walls, at least 4 solid top and 4 solid bottom layers with 1.0 mm minimum thickness, 10 to 15 percent gyroid or lightning infill, and no supports. PETG is preferred; PLA is also supported.
Set your 3D printer and material process yourself. Inspect the troughs and rails in the slicer, 3D print one matching pair and check the free slide before using clay. The design targets 0.30 mm clearance per side.
This is a digital preview. Renders and software checks do not establish physical performance.
Before you 3D print
No. This is a preview of digital files and a guide. No physical tools or beads are shipped.
The roller forms solid clay. Follow the guide for the separate hole-making or spine method for your selected shape.
