2 roller bodies
Pixel Cherry, each supplied in fine and bold relief. The bodies are 28 mm at the peaks and 112 mm long.
3D-printable polymer clay texture rollers
Pattern a polymer clay slab with one fine and one bold roller body, using the supplied handle and impression rails.
Digital STL download for a filament (FDM) 3D printer or a 3D printing service. No physical item ships. Safety, licence, and refund details
Your download
Pixel Cherry, each supplied in fine and bold relief. The bodies are 28 mm at the peaks and 112 mm long.
One axle STL, one knob STL to 3D print twice and a socket fit coupon. Each working roller uses one axle and two knobs.
Nine rail-pair STL files cover 1.50 to 3.50 mm in 0.25 mm steps. Use one pair at a time: 2.50 mm for the fine setup or 3.00 mm for bold. The supplied gauge sets 101 mm between the inner edges.
The 3D printing guide explains 3D print order, the handle fit, slab and rail heights and the declared seam setting. The applicable licence ships with the download.
Maker workflow
3D print the supplied fit coupon first to check the socket fit on your 3D printer. Slide the axle through one roller body and push a knob onto each end. Leave about 0.5 mm between each knob and collar so the body can turn.
For fine relief, use a 3 mm slab and the supplied 2.50 mm rail pair. For bold relief, use a 4 mm slab and the 3.00 mm pair. Set 101 mm between the inner edges with the gauge, then rest the smooth collars on the rails to limit the impression depth.
Start on conditioned scrap clay. Roll once in one direction, then lift at the end. The 3D print seam can leave a mark or break in the pattern; place cutouts within the patterned areas.
Before you start
Keep the making setup practical
Start with the fit coupon and one fine body before 3D printing the full set.
Roll once in one direction. Back-and-forth rolling can double the pattern.
Remove clay from the tool before baking. Keep 3D-printed tools out of the oven and separate from food tools.
3D printing setup
Keep the bodies, axle, knobs, fit coupon, rails and spacing gauge at the supplied scale so the parts and spacing still match. Inspect one sliced body and the fit coupon before 3D printing the full set.
Use a 0.4 mm nozzle and dried PLA or PLA+ filament. 3D print the roller upright on one collar at 0.12 mm layers with 3 walls, 10 percent gyroid infill and supports off. Follow the guide for the brim. Face the plain seam corridor toward the back of the plate as the guide shows.
3D print the handle and rails in PLA+ or PETG with a 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.16 mm layers, 3 walls and 15 percent infill. Supports are off. Keep the rod flat side down and the knobs socket down as the guide shows.
The clay pictures illustrate the intended negative pattern at the stated slab and rail heights. They show the source texture; they do not predict clay flow or physical performance.
Before you 3D print
No. It contains digital STL files, a 3D printing guide and the applicable licence. You need access to a 3D printer or 3D printing service.
No. This set already includes the working handle, nine impression rail pairs, fit coupon and spacing gauge. Storage stands are optional.
Start with Pixel Cherry fine and the handle fit coupon. Check the assembly and try conditioned scrap clay before 3D printing the rest.
Face the plain seam corridor toward the back of the plate as the guide shows. The 3D print seam can leave a mark or break in the pattern; place cutouts within the patterned areas.
